Support life-changing scholarships

Your gift to scholarships can help every student have the opportunity to realise their dreams.

Scholarships change lives

The impact of scholarships is powerful and enduring. Scholarships change lives, not only for the student, but for their family, the community and future generations.

An RMIT education is open to all, but for many students the cost of an education can prevent them from following their dreams. For first-in-family university students or those who’ve experienced disadvantage, a scholarship is life-changing.

Opening the door to an education and a brighter future, scholarships not only change students’ lives, but those of their family, community and future generations.

How your contribution can change lives

For RMIT graduate Cortney Glass, receiving a scholarship allowed her to become the first person in her family to graduate from university. Cortney successfully graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Design (Communication Design). These life changing opportunities are only possible thanks to the support of our donors.

"I’m from Katherine in the Northern Territory, it’s a three hour drive from Darwin and my mob are the Wardaman and Dagoman. When I first came to Melbourne at the age of 14, it was a complete culture shock, but it totally changed my outlook on life. At first it was so hard to move away from my family and friends, but it was worthwhile.

When I got to Uni, I really needed financial support to help me through and having had the access to a scholarship meant I could afford the books and other things I needed while living away from home.

I am the first person in my family to graduate from University, so for me, being awarded a scholarship is all about having the opportunity to be a role model for my siblings, cousins and other Indigenous people to inspire them to continue to grow and to develop, and just to be who they are."

Cortney's life-changing experience

Cortney shares about how an RMIT scholarship opened up opportunities and enabled her to fulfil her dreams.
